[b]Basic Information (official name, language(s), capital city, demonym(s))[/b]: The United States of America, estimated population at 151,000,000. The United States has no official language, but Americans in overwhelming numbers speak English as their first language. The capital, Washington D.C. as well as notable cities like New York City, Philadelphia and Miami are all located on the Eastern coast. The standard way to refer to a citizen of the United States is as an "American". "United States", "American" and "U.S." are used to refer to the country adjectivally ("American values", "U.S. forces"). "American" is rarely used in English to refer to subjects not connected with the United States.

[b]Politics and Government:[/b] The United States is a democratic republic, where citizens vote to elect representatives who will conduct matters of political office. A system of checks and balances exist in the forms of the Legislative Branch, Judicial Branch and Executive Branch in the respective forms of the US Senate, the Supreme Court and the Presidency. The current President is Harry S. Truman, a Democrat who was given office after the death of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. On domestic issues, bills endorsed by Truman often faced opposition from a conservative Congress dominated by the South, but his administration successfully guided the American economy through post-war economic challenges. He said civil rights was a moral priority, and submitted the first comprehensive legislation in 1948, and issued Executive Orders to start racial integration of the military and federal agencies that year.

[b]Infrastructure , science and development:[/b] The United States considers itself the [i]First World[/i], where the standard of living is much higher than other countries (not necessarily true, but considered as such) where super highways and railroads travel the coasts and only heavy rural areas are without the most common of amenities. The United States is one of two nations to possess nuclear technology, as well as one of the sole contributors to weaponization of the aforementioned technology. Following Operation Paperclip, the United States largely cemented itself as one of the most prominent scientific nations in the world.

[b]Analysis (optional for some, required for major nations, denoted by * on list):[/b] As one of two preeminent powers in the world, the United States seeks to enforce it's agenda by ensuring the stability of Western Europe and it's NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) allies, as well as stemming the growth of communism in the Third World. Many instances entail covert operations, proxy operations and bushfire wars. However, times have occurred when American boots have hit the ground to attempt to restore democratic and pro-American governments to power.
