While Martin's psyhic fingers probed through the depths of Mithias's mind, he found no trace of Stein. There was no device implanted in Mithias's head, no scar in the brain tissue. There was no indication, physical or otherwise, that anyone had ever implanted Stein's consciousness into Mithias's mind. Odder still, Martin could find no trace of the Terebitia across the land. It was as if it had turned itself into a coma, shutting down it's brain sequences in order to prevent Martin from tracking it down. Both the resurrected Stein and BioPILOT seemed to have disappeared without a trace, as if they had never existed at all. Meanwhile, however, the country had fallen into chaos. Magnus had become completely absent, and the Vampire Republic was being bombarded with requests from assistance from Canada. The previously stoutly independent country was prepared to throw itself at the feet of it's new vampire overlords if they would send assistance, as Terebithia had apparently not only torn it's murderous path through the countryside, but additionally sent several groups of drones on long-range raiding parties, destroying important weapons caches and food deposits. To make matters worse, several outside countries had decided stating that they might be forced to move in and 'aid' the Vampire Republic deal with it's many issues, as well as the rumour of Heaven's Greatest Weapon, which had already been the subject of gossip and talk around the globe.
