With a book in hand Lydia strolled carelessly down one of the many upper hallways of the school. She HAD been in the courtyard but the place had grown extremely bothersome as news of humans on campus spread like wildfire. The rumor didn’t interest her, so she had left for some peace, having retreated to one of the halls branching off of where the school’s dragon often flew. This was her fourth year here, her senior year, and she knew the places people avoided. That was where she liked to go when she wanted to read, especially on busy days like today. In truth, one of those places is where she was now. The school tended to avoid the areas around what she referred to as ‘Dragon Way’, but for her it was good spot to read or practice her theatrics. It was even better on days when Raziel, the dragon, wasn’t in a bad mood. She often opened the window and conversed with him, in dragon tongue however, and had even gotten his input on several of her audition pieces in the past. Surprisingly Lydia was one of the few who the beast could tolerate to be around, and she made a point to visit with a volume of Shakespeare and a bowl of fresh sugar cookies. At the moment she was completely lost in her novel, walking along the empty halls with her nose stuffed in the pages. ’I wonder if that rumor was true?’
