Background (Before captivity): When she was still with her mother and father, they tried to keep their family hidden. It worked for some timel but eventually they were discovered when the two went out for collecting fish. They had left their daughter at home, cand when they didn't come back, she started to worry. She learnt the basics of surviving and she was doing fine, until she was spotted and captured.

Background (After escape): After finally escaping from one of his masters that was far too harsh, he quickly retreated to one of the mostly untouched areas of the forest that covered most of the outskirts of the town and learnt to survive by himself. He used the trees to his advantage and soon he learnt to hunt and hide from vampires that were still eager and young. He could cover most of his tracks so they wouldn't find him.
