For nearly a century, the human race has been at war with the Bydo, a species of organic entities who corrupt what they touch. The innovations of countless ships, laser weaponry and Wave-Motion technology by the Earth Allied Forces' Space Corps has brought humankind far, but it was the Force that turned the battle around. The use of a highly concentrated Bydo mass able to be manipulated by any fighter served as an invaluable tool against the Bydo, and even sparked the idea of several Bydo-infused Space Corps craft.

But now the Bydo have remained at bay and gone for well over 9 years. Against some people's wishes, the EAF continues to bear Bydo technology among their ranks, despite impassioned calls to scrap it all given how the Bydo no longer appears to be a threat. Fed up with the EAF's defiance to such wishes, a Mars-based faction calling themselves the Granzera Revolutionary Army has declared war on Earth.

After several months of skirmishes and operations around the solar system, both sides eventually move into the outer reaches of the Kuiper Belt. During an assault to prevent the Granzera's siege of the orbital arms colony Glipnir, it is discovered the occupying forces belong to the Solar Liberation League, an extremist wing of Granzera. 

In order to reclaim control of the Tesseract, a subspace warp platform, the EAF and the GRA initiate a joint operation upon the SLL. The SLL counterattacked with the use of harnessed Bydo units, in a sort of evolved form of the Force manipulation system. Within the climax of the battle, the super-dreadnought Jotunheim was brought forth to annihilate the brunt of the enemy forces when suddenly, the Tesseract activated unexpectedly. Unable to fall back properly, a chunk of both the EAF and the SLL's Bydo platoons were consumed by the explosive white anomaly.[/hider]
