Don't worry. They'll put on clothes before they go to meet you. And also possibly later on in their society, when they start having to live on the surface and need clothes.
Also, elves would work good. Their ability to use magic would fit nicely with my people not being able to do it, except with enchanted items. That, combined with their increased physical prowess would mean that we aren't really a threat.
