Maybe not to you, but Rilla sold me 4 Enderpearls for 12 diamonds. I figured it's a good deal considering that's potentially a new pickaxe that you can enchant every time you get an enderpearl, or the fuel needed to repair an already enchanted pickaxe. Diamonds have been hard for me to come by since they don't spawn as much as gold per chunk. And without a fortune pick, the usually have a max rate of two per block at what I've noticed to be a 30% chance of two diamonds dropping.

So I figure 3 diamonds per pearl is worth it for both parties. I only use them for short range teleportation when I mine anyways.
