Race: [hider=The Panterians] The Panterians are humanoid and generally stand around 6ft tall and are covered in soft short fur, with variations in colour depending on their tribe. Almost every Panterian have semi prehensile tails that vary in length but never reach further than their knees. They have pads on both their hands and feet, with retractable claws at the end of each digit. All Panterians have very flexible bodies and are fast at reacting to any threats that they can detect. They are however fragile creatures and it does not take very much to subdue them; most Panterians rely on their speed to avoid blows and wounds instead. The Panterians are a fairly religious race and they all pray to the goddess of fire and think of her as the one true god. They don’t hate other races for not believing the same however and do accept other religions; they just see them as inferior underneath the goddess. They believe the sun to be the collected spirits of all the dead who have been embraced by their goddess’s spirit. Their feline eyes mixed with the goddess’s blessing allows many Panterians to see very well in the dark and dim lighting, however even they cannot see in pitch black lighting. All of their races magic stems from their strong faith and the runes that they transcribe onto their mages by drawing them in ash collected from the first flame which is located in an underground temple. They are capable of feats such as: short range teleportation, creating fireballs, being unaffected or strengthened by flames, heating their bodies from within. All of their spells and feats require the use of magical energy and most Panterians naturally generate it at a slow pace but they can create more of it by meditating in the sun’s rays. A novice mage is only capable of a limited number of feats as they do not have very large magic stores. The only way for them to gain more is by using magic daily and forcing their stores to increase with demand, this is the reason the strongest mages are usually older Panterians. Due to their power stemming from fire, all Panterians have a weakness to water in all forms, and being in contact with water actively drains their strength and magical stores. Most Panterians have a strong fear of running water and often refuse to cross rivers and oceans on ships or rafts in fear of it sinking. While they are sapped by the rain, it doesn't draw much out of them unless it is a torrential downpour. The Panterians homeland has fairly wet weather and they have slightly acclimatised to it, but have been unable to move out of it due to the first flame’s location. The Panterians can consume water and do so regularly, but like all water it does weaken them. To minimise the effects as much as possible they only drink from still pools and heat the water to decontaminate it and help keep their core temperatures stable. If travelling long distances they collect water in a specialised flask which contains a small compartment in the bottom that allows them to heat the liquid inside with a small flame.
