Nathan had always wondered, idly, what it felt like to be deaf. As the doll reached out, though, as she put her hands over his ears, as she mumbled the words "I'm sorry" over and over again, as he felt something stab into his ears, Nathan felt like a fool for ever thinking something like that. As Somnia pulled back, Nathan fell to his knees, clutching his ears in pain. There was silence. He felt something trickling out of his ears as he looked back up at the doll. "I'm sorry..." she said, even though he couldn't hear her. He slowly got up to his feet. He wasn't going to be deaf from now on... right? He wouldn't be able to listen to his music anymore... He'd felt the buzzing at the back of his head at around the time Somnia disappeared in a puff of black smoke. The buzzing was getting more intense and, on instinct, Nathan went prone. That was when the vines returned, demolishing the house and showering Nathan with small bits of wood. Nathan wasted no time, running out of the cabin via one of its newly created holes.
