[b]Backstory[/b]: Surtus was born at an interesting time- the evil beneath Underdeep had yet to retreat back into the belly of the mountain, so Surtus was raised and bred to be a warrior, first and foremost. This has led to him being [i]extremely[/i] strong and tough, moreso than his older brothers, Dain II and Ridold. Surtus' strength is only rivaled by his father's. Despite his greath strength, however, Surtus has yet to see battle, for by the time that he was old enough to be sent to the front lines, the evil monstrosities were already beaten back from the walls of Underdeep. This had deeply upset Dain, for to be given the name of 'Lionbeard' Surtus had to show he held the same prowess as Dain- not to mention that Surtus is struck with the "curse" of not being able to grow a beard. While being Dain's son has overshadowed any stigma related to the problem. there are many who still believe Surtus can not be named a 'Lionbeard' when he lacks a beard! 

Surtus has since made it his life's goal to prove to Underdeep, but more importantly, his Father, that he is worthy to be named a 'Lionbeard'. Until then, he carries Dain's old surname: Powdermane, a name that would have been, in the World Before, associated with servitude and selflessness. While he continues to train himself- preferring a sword-and-shield technique as well as an unarmed technique- Surtus currently serves as an assistant of many of Dain, often seen in his company.

[b]Personality[/b]: Brazen, though carries a hint of the professionalism seen in his father. He is a dwarf of his word, nothing more, nothing less. He was trained to be a soldier, so his virtues lie in honor and loyalty.
