Yeah, I'm the same way. I have a giantass list of game rules I expect people to follow. If people still apply after that, I'm reasonably sure they're people I can work with happily. :D But yeah, you're doing everything right. You just found the HIV covered needle in the haystack. >_>' I couldn't play with anyone who DOESN'T have standards. I mean, I'm here to tell a story and write it collaboratively with like-minded people. I think people are just way too quick for instant gratification or are looking for smut or whatever. And entitlement is just the worst. There's literally hundreds of people on this site; it isn't hard to find someone with similar expectations and desires. As soon as somebody has an entitled attitude, I show them the door. I do not have time for that petty shit. And yeah! That's all anyone should expect. I have when people just leave without saying a damn thing. I hate having to hunt people down. Blegh. Yeah, you can usually tell if someone's a write off right away. At that point, you politely turn them away. You need to be happy with the people you're writing with and not suffer in silence because you're being polite. And yeah, some people are really sensitive about their writing. Not much you can do about that other than kind of encourage them to work on it. I think a lot of it comes down to poor self-esteem and using roleplaying as an escape. Being rejected isn't fun, and some people are awful at it. And by all means, rant away! Happy to be an ear. Yeah, fortunately I know a few of the mods, so it's pretty quick to get a hold of one if shit's going down. :D
