Name: Mateiu (he'll readily answer to 'Mat' or 'Matty')
Kind of monster: Basilisk 
Powers: Enhanced agility and strength, enhanced sense of smell, lethal venom (induces excruciating pain and full body paralysis to include the lungs and heart, he can spit this at will)
Likes: Warm places, cooking, parks and nature trails, precious gems
Dislikes: Cold weather, large cities, his hoard being touched
Hobby: It's a tie between gem hoarding and cooking. 
Other: Although he's fairly sweet and well mannered in his human form, his basilisk form won't hesitate to try and eat someone if they're ill or wounded out of instinct. Assuming they survive an attack, he'll apologize profusely, and possibly give to them a piece of his treasure once he returns to normal. Rather than sleep on a bed, he sleeps on the jewels he's collected over the years.
