1815 Essanory Kingdom Using the abundance of iron, the Essanory Kingdom began to build more boats. Although they had a large quantity of iron, they did not have a large quantity of wood and so could not build as many as they had hoped for. The building was expensive but, despite this, the manufacturing was a success. (-£800, +1 transport Ship, +2 Cannon Ships.) Hoping to acquire grain and fruit, as well as spread the influence of the Kingdom, The Essanory sent 1000 troops to spread into Northern Lands (47). Within this land the military came across a large settlement of natives. The Essanory troops demanded they give up their land or they would take it from them. The translators of the town relayed the message to the wise elders. He soon returned with a simple answer “No.” The Essanory generals began to prepare to attack the small town and its defences, despite the natives only having primitive weaponry, (spears and bows) they outnumbered the Essanory 2 to 1. When morning came, the town was under siege. Musket fire riddled the wooden wall defences and easily splintered through them, volleys where being fired almost perfectly and it seemed that the Essanory would have a clear victory. What they didn’t count on though, was that the natives knew the land. Into the afternoon a flurry of arrows began to attack from the east flank, men began to die quickly as the mass of arrows flushed out the military men. The arrows had longer range then the muskets and so the precise hits where far more useful then the muskets raw power. Men began to flee and orders where confused as troops quickly attempted to make a hasty retreat. That was until the arrows began to become less, the tribesmen where running out of arrows and so the officer in charge began to boost the morale of men, proclaiming that the fight must be brought to them before they could grab more armaments. The Essanory men soon charged into the village yelling and shooting. They soon claimed the town. The elders of the natives soon surrendered the rest of the land. ( -700 Military Troops, -1600 Native Troops, Gained 2 towns, Gained Large Fruit,Gained Large Grain +1200 population) The Essanory Kingdom began putting more money into weapons. Unfortunately no breakthroughs where made. (-£200) Hoping to improve education, the Essanory began to build more schools. The movement was a success but costs where higher than expected. (-£500 +1 Education) Walkdonia 1000 troops where deployed from The Walkdonian Republic Of Boothston down into southern territory(3). The men found an abandoned civilisation, the remains of buildings and fire pits long left to ruin. The troops began to rebuild, civilians from The Walkdonian Republic Of Boothston came to the village and began to live there. The rebuilding took most of the year. (Land Gained, +1 Town) 500 troops where sent from Walkdonia, and 1000 troops where sent from The Walkdonian Republic Of Boothston to attack the land between them(2) Both armies met natives but, as per orders, they began firing upon all natives that they saw. Soon the native leaders caught wind of men from the north and south attacking their land, they began peace talks which the Walkdonia Officers ignored. They where told to take the land by force and not stop until they have taken it all(2). The south received another 1000 Walkdonian troops as back up. Battles commenced between rag tag gangs of natives, using the land to there advantage, by the end all natives had been slaughtered. The towns began to be rebuilt under Walkdonia reign. Many Walkdonians believed the massacre was wrong and felt unhappy with the way the government has dealt with others. (+4 towns, Land gained, -1040 military troops, - 4000 Native troops,-10% Public Happiness, Gained Large Gold, Gained Large Lead,Gained Medium Wood) Walkdonia began to put money into increasing its Military Prowess. Unfortunately money was spent but due to a lack of available officers, most training was shoddy and unhelpful. (-£600) Walkdonia began to build universities, hoping to expand its populations education. The universities where built but, as not many people had a basic education, many people missed out on the prestige opportunity. (-£1000 +1 Education) Rusarian Empire The Rusarian Empire began rigorous training with its troops in order to better prepare them for the possibility of a future conflict. It was a success with little money spent with big results. (-£200, +1 Military Training) The Rusarians began to build modern cannons. Using its large Iron supply it had plenty of resources to construct the cannons. Despite the abundance, some plans went missing and few cannons where actually made. (-£500, +1 Cannon) In order to increase its countries income, factories where told to work harder than ever. The move was a success with little costs. (+£200 Income) To increase the population of its people, Rusarian Government provided incentives for families that have more children. (-£500 , +Population Growth) The Kingdom of Attolia Local ship builders where told to begin building more cannon ships, which they happily began to do for reduced prices. Despite this the materials they used where not up to standard and so no cannon ships where placed into the navy (-£600) The Attolian government opened the National Bank of Attolia. The National Bank of Attolia is the central bank, which serves as the main body to which the government gives low interest loans to businesses. Although many loans where taken out, little industry was produced. (-£500, +1 Industry) The Government began an internal audit of all expenditures to ensure that money is not being wasted, or stolen. Many major military officials where found to be lending money for personal reasons. They where fired and income rose. Despite this the military training of the troops where decreased by the lack of large military officials. (+£500 Income, -1 Military Training) The Kingdom of Attolia scouted the lands to the south (20) . Sending a single cannon ship the crew where nervous of these new lands. When they arrived, natives of the land welcomed them in open arms. Adoring the crew with beads and flowers. When negotiations began to be brought up, the Natives offered the trade of coffee beans which the crew accepted. (Friendship with the natives of 20, Small Coffee gained)
