His armor consists of hardened leather and iron, it has a hood which he will put up in inclement weather. His weaponry consists of a steel longsword, which he has used for years, becoming quite proficient in taking down foes with it. He also carries a dagger, holstered on his right calf. He carries on him a canteen full of fresh water as well as sack of gold. Personality: Raoul is sort of cocky, but he feels he has earned the right to be it since people in his profession don't tend to last as long as he has. He's not exactly kind, or merciful, and always puts himself ahead of others. If there's a way to get on top, then he'll take it. Some call him conniving, he prefers cunning. This doesn't mean he's not loyal, he is very loyal to his closest friends as well as those that pay him. He just treats everyone else with a cautious watchfulness. Money is the top thing on his mind, what pulled him into this group was the promise of riches from those that supported the investigation. Background: Raoul was born to a mother and father who made their living as traveling merchants. His parents were alot like him, they liked money alot, they always thought of ways to make themselves richer, this naturally led to people they ripped off getting angry and creating grudges. This lead to assassins getting sent after his parents when Raoul was only five years old, the five caravan guards who were in charge of guarding the merchants were then promptly bribed by these assassins, who were offering more than what Raoul's parents offered them, which wasn't alot to begin with. One of the guards shielded Raoul's eyes as his parents were murdered. The same guard then decided to take care of young Raoul, as the assassins would just leave him since they were only contracted to take out the parents. This guard, Robert, never had children of his own so he treated Raoul like his son, teaching the child how to fight with swords as well as survive in the harsh lands of Aerth. He was tough to the child, yet only was this way to make Raoul tougher, Raoul realized this in his later years with Robert, and appreciated the way the man raised him. Robert gifted Raoul the same longsword he uses to this day on the child's sixteenth birthday. Robert was getting along in years and was lucky he had made it as far as he did in his life as a sellsword. The man died from an infected wound days after Raoul turned nineteen. So the newly christened man buried his adoptive caretaker, then moved on with his life, taking up a life as a mercenary. Over the years he became stronger as well as wealthier. He bought a protective set of armor, the same which he wears now. He never settled down in one place, just following around wherever the money was the highest. He's been all over the place, stood on top of the highest hills and the most beautiful beaches. He ended up joining a team which was sent to investigate the mysterious rumors originating from ancient ruins to the south.
