I'd imagine Mega Evolution should be a thing, but then again, we should consider the setting. Mega evolution was already a really misunderstood and new concept, and beyond that it'd be nearly impossible to find the stones necessary for Mega evolution, let alone the activator thing. Any in the area would probably be locked away in the wild over the years or in being kept/sold in the highest ranks of the markets. In other words, they would be a thing but a thing we would never have IMO.
