Mikael nodded as David spoke of his time in the wars. He knew how it was seeing gruesome scenes, and almost couldn't imagine seeing those scenes every day. Sure, Mikael had seen his only family brutally murdered, twice, but every new war would bring new friends for David, and new friends would bring new mourning. Mikael was almost still in a trance when David pulled a bag of blood out of his bag and began to drink it. Mikael kept his cool, dropping his cigarette and crushing it under a boot rather than shaking his head to snap out of the trance. "No, I don't mind at all. I'd rather it be that than mine," Mikael said, only half joking. While David seemed trustworthy, Mikael didn't just hand trust out like candy. He was deep in thought when he realized he hadn't answered David's question. He straightened up, standing next to the outer wall of the compound rather than leaning against it, and said, "My dad had always been intrigued by the supernatural. He taught me everything I know, so I guess you could say I've always been tangled up in the supernatural. The Regiment has been watching me for years, and they recently caught a break. I got into some BS legal trouble, and they sprung at the opportunity. Basically, I'm here on a favor." Due to his barebones story, Mikael knew David would probably know there was way more to the story than Mikael cared to share, but he wasn't about to give away his past to someone he had just met. Either way, his story would have been cut short by a young-looking female approaching Carson then bursting into the main building. Mikael nodded in David's direction and said, "Wanna follow her? She seems to know where she's going." Mikael then started walking towards the door, although he would hesitate if David asked any more questions.
