Cosette stands at around 3'5 and is very small and slender for her age. Her body is very frail and weak so she has a hard time finding work seeing as most of it involves heavy lifting.

Cosette is very shy and kind though she is so shy to the point where she can't really talk in front of other people. Having not socialized with anyone aside from her mother left Cosette with no knowledge on how to relate to others and so she hardly ever knows what to say or how to act. She tends to blurt a lot of things out without realizing it or thinking about her words. She also gets embarrassed and flustered way too easily; often blushing and hiding her face. Being as innocent as she is to the world, she trusts way too easily and is oblivious about a lot of stuff. She can be very insecure about herself and she tends to second-guess herself a lot. Cosette can become upset very easily and is very sensitive; also being very clumsy and tends to trip over her own feet a lot. Despite all of this however. Cosette loves helping people and will do everything she can to make them smile. She looks at the brighter aspects in life and tries not to dwell on negative thoughts. Cosette also puts others needs before her own and in most cases she reacts without thinking of her own well-being: if someone is being hurt, Cosette will immediately try and protect them with any means possible without even considering herself. She is very, very selfless. Cosette can be very curious and is very easily captivated and awed by even the simplest of objects and things.

Cosette's father disappeared on her mother before Cosette had been born and so her mother struggled to provide for her. She left Cosette in the care of a small inn keeper and worked hard to make sure her child was fed. Times were hard and at one point Cosette's mother, Fauntine, was let go from the textiles factory she had been working in previously. With no job and no way to send money Fauntine did the next best thing: she cut off her hair and sold it, she even parted with some of her teeth. All so her daughter would have food. Sadly, when Cosette was 6 her mother fell ill and soon passed away. With no income coming in anymore, the inn keeper threw Cosette out on the streets, saying she was too much of a hassle to take care of. Cosette struggled not to fall into despair. Her mother had always told her to keep her head up and that's what she did.
