Tech wise i'm sticking with gauss weapons, genetic modifications along with some robots and no further. Don't see the purpose in much else since these humans are only centuries more advanced than today, not millennia.

While the Listeners are very advanced, seeing how some people managed to fight in battles against them and live judging by your description I suspect they're not god-like.

As a result of there being survivors i'm more trying to understand their capabilities since there's a chance I want to make a older character who remembers fighting in one of those battles with the Listeners. But I have no clue what they're capable of beyond planetary destruction so I don't know how i'd make any accounts.

My only other option I see is a cult that wants to send out a ship to seek forgiveness from the listeners.
