Genjutsu has indeed been given the short end of that stick. I feel that genjutsu should have had a much bigger part in the series because there is so much you can do with it. Instead it was integrated into the Sharinan-circlejerk and now only a handful of people have insight, skill, talent and will enough to play a genjutsu artist. It's sad, but true.
