"Incorrect: Your goals are too short term. Without the Equestrians in our path, we shall contonue our search un interrupted. You are thinking in terms of this universe... This universe is expendable, there are quintillions exactly like it where the only difference is which direction a single, low down ant looked as he went out to work. Our goal is impossible in its possibility and the elimination of all life is impossible in its own possibility. The Equestrians would have added possibly over one hundred thousand years on to our journey given their habits. Chaos will be busy killing its self. Regardless of any affiliation of the Equestrians with them or not, Chaos already has the power to take over this universe if they united: A task that is rendered impossible by their very nature. There shall be no crusade, there shall be only unity. Unity across many universes, ever expanding, ever benefitting the life forms it comes into contact with, and creating more with every move. The greater good incarnate, potentially infinite life forms await the greater good... Exact copies of this Collective await to merge with this Collective body. If we succeed, we shall be legion. Imagine infinite worlds, infinite people, infinite resources. The result is simple: infinite prosperity. 
There are many stages that lie before that, the first is the union of this galaxy. Understand that the goal has an infinite time frame, and the union of this universe alone is a herculean effort. This universe will eventually be annihilated but we shall go on living and we shall continue our unity: Forever. Once we develop technology which can break the universal boundary between the primary slash secondary universe and all other universes, we shall have already lost and won, for we can neither be defeated nor can we ever succeed in full. Regardless, we would be carrying out the greater good to the letter; We would be doing what is best for the largest amount of sentient beings possible. The Equestrians would delay the current stage that leads to universal union and then the breaking into the further universes, they had to be beaten down and so we allied with a force powerful enough to help is defeat them but ultimately too fractured to destroy either side entirely...
