The crate was mostly just the tin that made it up, whatever was inside didn't weigh much, so she waved off one of the crewman who had moved to assist her. To be honest, she was surprised to see that much cargo for their mission. She still thought it wouldn't take that long, even if the colony had vanished, this didn't seem their area. But she set aside any reservations she might have had, as it wasn't her place to have them. Loading the rest of the cargo didn't take too much longer, and when that was done she set her on pack down by her seat. Her rifle she kept in hand, but that was the usual for her, never wanting to be far from her weapons on the job. When she came back out, she spotted Taerys, and promptly broke her calm facade to look her over. The girl's face was hidden by her helmet, so Jackdaw couldn't tell if her eyes had dried or not. But at least she wasn't curled up and shaking anymore. The moment passed just as quickly as it had arrived, and Jackdaw simply took her place among the others again.
