Yeah, the wall was there. But the walls don't expand on their own - only when an RP dies does the void expand more. 

And even then, the void doesn't [i]always[/i] replace an area. As stated at one point, the natural "circle of life" (as I suppose you could call it) in this world is that RP's die all the time, but it's ok because new RP's replace them. That balance was thrown off when GM meddled and caused RP's to die off en masse during Guildfall, thus resulting in the stretches of void. 

But yeah, the wall of void can stay there for a while and it'll be fine.
