Ryder was the last one to board, causing the whole ship to tilt as he walked on. Too big to find a seat he took a couple of cargo hooks and hooked himself in, just like the crates to the back of the space. Kneeling to better keep himself secured. With the ground team on board, he took his seat next to Tearys, strapping himself in. Planet entry wasn't the coziest of rides. But with that done, he put on his helmet and put a pair of fingers to his neck, much like he was trying to check his pulse, but a click was heard and he told the pilot, "We're ready, let's get moving." And in the next two seconds, the drop ship jerked up and began moving forward, a rough ride until it got very, very still, they were in open space. The stillness persisted for about a minute, then it got very, very rough. Violent shakes that even Ryder was throw at, this persisted for about two minutes, then it got rough, but a sort of atmospheric rough. At this stage, Varus addressed the crew, "Tearys, you and I will be dropping first. About a mile away from the colony's border wall. We'll search and based on our findings..." He would have continued, but the ship jerked and the lights went out. Even coms with the pilot were cut. Varus went wide eyed beneath his helmet and the ship jerked again and began to roll, free falling. He gripped his straps and held on tight, this wasn't normal. The ship quit working. With a nasty jerk, it hit the ground and bounced, ripping the ramp clean off in a grind of metal. Outside, everybody could look and see that they were moving fast, and not in a good way, the bottom of the drop ship was being dragged, making an enormous rut in the planet's surface. Then, in another blink, the ship hit something hard and jumped up, tearing it's hull and the ending five feet of it was separated from the rest, taking Varus and his seat with it. Just barely leaving Tearys with everybody else. A few moments later it came to a final stop, propped on it's left side.
