Hello there Treble, and welcome to the forum! The forum can be a bit daunting at first, but it's actually a lot simpler then you might think. Roleplays are typically divided into a number of categories. The most popular and active group rps are divided into three sections, Free, Casual and Advanced, which differ based on expected writing requirements of players, with descriptions for them all on the front page. You also have the Arena for combat focused rps, Nation and Tabletop for those particular types of rps, and 1x1s as well, which I think you might be interested in. Traditionally, it's best to start looking for an rp in the Interest Check subforums. These are where aspiring GMs post an rp concept and idea aiming to garner interest from people who might be willing to join their rp, before they create a fully fledged RP in the main section. RPs typically start off with the OOC, where all RP and world information is given and where RPers can apply with a character. After being accepted and given the GM's permission, they're free to post in the IC itself. There's a bit more to RPing, but these are the general basics. If you take a look around you'll be able to see how it's done. To be honest, both of these topics should really be stickied in the Introduction Section as well in my opinion.
