Marshall sits back in the tent at Camp Pendleton. He took a sip of water as he begins to look back over some of the crazy shit that has went on in the last few days. Marshall was in an alleyway with three other people - Charlie, Nathan and Alicia, all heading to the camp. However they got surrounded by those... things, in an alleyway. They were coming from both ways. "This is it, isn't it?" His friend Charlie said to him. Cutting in, Alicia, one of the girls they met on the way interrupts Charlie "Shut up and think! How do we get out of this one?" As she said that, Marshall realised what had to be done do avoid death. He didn't know if these things were - dead or alive... Some of them had crazy bite marks on their neck, face , arms etc. One of them had no hand. "Guys, I don't know what the fuck these things are, but damnit I'm not going to give my life to one of them - we don't know much, but we do know that they are gonna kill us!" As he stated that, Marshall reached down into his holster, taking out his Smith & Wesson - takes the safety off and begins firing, aiming for the head. Nathan was too scared. He decided to try and run past those monsters, even though the gaps were incredibly small. He never made it past them. The other three did though, as they stood their ground and cleared the way. Marshall and Alicia had guns, Charlie axed any of them that got too close. They shot most of them and ran - but Nathan didn't have it in him, and died trying to escape. They left that neighbourhood once they reached Marshall's car, and made way for the Camp. Marshall was the only one that made it to Camp Pendleton. He saw Charlie get eaten a few hours after that whilst looking for some gas, as they stopped at a gas station. One of the things had been sitting dormant, the three of them thought that it was dead... but it got up when Charlie got too close and sunk it's teeth into the back of Charlie's neck. By the time Marshall and Alicia got to Charlie it was too late. Charlie left his axe in the car, so he had no defence. He had already died and the monster was just feasting. Marshall and Alicia both ran back to the car, and left - but they didn't exactly have much gas, exactly why they were looking for more. Eventually the car did stop, as it ran out of gas. They decided sleep inside it, they were just up the road from this really small town, only around 15 buildings in it, there was a neighbourhood five minutes down the road past the town - looks like this town was just shops and stuff. They woke up the next morning, around 11. Exhausted, to say the least. They decided to walk down the road and were at the edge of the town. Whilst walking, they had a chat. "What do you think we should call those things?" Alicia asked Marshall. "Well, different radio stations called them different things. One was calling them Corpses, another - Walkers, I think the local one back at my part of town called them 'Dead ones'. All fit I suppose, there's probably various names." Marshall replies. "Corpses... Walkers." Alicia said. They stopped at the pharmacy right at the edge of town. "Meet back here in 30 minutes, just walk around and try and find either a better car with gas, or some gas." Marshall says. He came back 30 minutes later as he located a car, and began to wait. He had been waiting for a number of hours. Truth is he didn't know what to think. He did know, however, that two of the Walkers had noticed his presence and were coming towards him. Two gunshots were fired, two of them were killed. He knew now, that he had alerted others. So he got into the car that he came across, with keys in the ignition and the tank half full. He drove down the main street of the town in hope that he would see Alicia, all he saw were more of them. Over 4 hours had passed, nearly five. He had to drive away. He had no choice... He was scared, and alone. Marshall made it to the Camp. He never really thought over recent events until now. He heard the occasional gunshots fired by the military. Every time shots were fired he shit himself. He heard people talking etc outside the tent. He knew that people were being made to share tents, because of the high number of civilians and the low number of tents. He just sat there, and waited to see who was going to enter his tent, whilst he thought about Alicia. She could be anywhere, dead or alive... The more he thinks about leaving her the more he hates himself. He grips Charlie's axe hard. The only thing he has left of his. He's lost three friends so far... He met Nathan and Alicia on the way, but Charlie was his childhood friend.
