Nathan only started slowing down when the buzzing in his head subside. He felt the ground under him gain a harder consistency, and he looked around to find the thorny plains beginning to scale concrete and steel, as the best-described-as 'nature' made room for the ruins of a city. Or maybe the city was making room for nature. He swallowed. His mouth and his throat felt dry. It was almost calm, and that was slightly unnerving. His brain buzzed, and he looked over his shoulder, but it took just a moment for him to realize that the movement was coming from ahead of him. He hid between the cracks of one of the broken buildings, his eyes scanning the outside for what was coming.
