Well the Knights Templar were made when the first crusades were over and people were needed to protect the path to Outremer. They were mostly Franks(French) and they made quite a profit even though they were sworn to poverty. 

Maybe you would want to build a tribe that mirrors those of the Franks, then you could start a campaign against the other mainland tribes like Charlemagne.
