Awesome, that's eight people, including me! I might just cut entry here; if some people drop out there will be more room, but eight seems like a pretty good number, for now. I'll try and have the OOC up later today, still working out some balancing and stuff. @Alkeni Synair: Take your pick from any generation of Fire Emblem you choose. Classes will not actually come into play all that much other than to give you some sort of label to be named as; I'm thinking more of a build-your-character type deal where you allocate your own stat points and such every level. I actually have a quick draft for the character sheet done, so here ya go:
Name: Your name, obviously. Age: How old you are. Race: Your race. There are some bonuses depending on your choice, and the list is as follows: Human - Plain ‘ol humans, born of the sky. 3 extra stat points to distribute between any stats you choose (except Mov). Elf - Feyfolk, born of the spirits. +2 to Spd and +2 to Mag. Dwarf - Short, stout people, born of the earth. +2 to Str and +5 to HP. Zenka - Beastfolk, born of nature. +2 to Str and +2 to Def if female, +2 to Skl and +2 to Spd if male. Dreamwalker - Mystical race, born of dreams. +2 to Mag and +2 to Lck Appearance: What you look like. Description or picture, either is fine. Personality: How you act and such. Class: What class you are (e.g Swordsman, Archer, Cleric, etc.). Your class won't affect your stats or anything, so just name it as you please. (If you wanna be a thief or a bard/dancer, though, there will be some special things you need to take note of, later.) Stats: Your stats. Each character starts out with 30 stat points to distribute between any stat (except Mov), with each stat starting at 0 (except HP, which starts at 20). No more than 8 points put into a single stat, please. HP - How much damage you can take before you die. If it hits zero, you're dead! Str - How much damage you can do with physical weapons. Each point in Str increases your physical damage by 0.5. Mag - How much damage you can do with spells and the like. Each point in Mag increases your magic damage by 0.5. Skl - How skillful you are in attacking. Each point in Skl increases your Hit by 2 and your Crit chance by 0.5. Also, for every point in Skl, you get a 2% chance to ignore half the enemy's Def, rounded up. Spd - How fast you are. Each point in speed increases your Dodge by 2, and if you have more speed than your opponent, you can attack twice! (Also slightly modified from the game, 3 more speed lets you attack twice, with the second hit doing half damage, while 6 speed over your enemy lets you do full damage with the second attack.) Lck - How lucky you are. Each point in Lck increases your Dodge, Hit, Crit evasion, and Crit chance by 1. Def - How good you are at defending yourself. Each point in Def increases physical resistance by 0.5. Res - How resistant you are to magic. Each point in Res increases magical resistance by 0.5. Also, remember to add your racial bonuses to your stat totals. Armor Type: Determines your defense bonus and your base Mov. Types are as follows: None/Light: +0 Def, 6 Mov Medium: +2 Def, 5 Mov Heavy: +4 Def, 4 Mov Please add bonuses to your stats when you type it out, but leave the base stat in parentheses next to the actual stat. For example, if you wore medium armor and had 4 Def, you would write down your Def stat as: Def: 6 (4) Shields: Determine whether you want a shield or not. Bonuses are as follows: None: None Buckler: +1 Def, -1 Skl Kite Shield: +3 Def, -2 Skl, -1 Spd Tower Shield: +5 Def, -3 Skl, -2 Spd Do the same things with these bonuses as you did with armor. Note, however, that if a penalty would take a certain stat into the negatives, keep that stat at 0 instead. Mount: Determine whether you want a mount. Mounts give movement bonuses, but also decrease the base stat points you get. Horseback: +2 Mov, -4 Base Stat points Pegasus: +3 Mov, -8 Base Stat points, Flying (Flying lets you ignore terrain movement penalties and unit collision with the enemy) Wyvern: +2 Mov, -6 Base Stat points, Flying Affinity: Your affinity, kinda like your zodiac sign, I suppose. You can choose from: Earth Wind Ice Fire Thunder Light Dark Anima Weapon Skill: How skilled you are with weapons. You get 1 Weapon Skill point upon character creation, to put into whatever weapon type you choose. Weapon types are as follows: Swords Axes Lances Bows Knuckles/Gauntlets Elemental/Anima Magics Light Magics Dark Magics Arcane Magics Staves Daggers (Note: Everyone starts with an ‘E’ in Daggers) Putting one point into a weapon type increases it by one level, which are denoted by letters. For example, putting a point into lances would put your weapon skill at Lance - E. Weapon skills go from E -> D -> C -> B -> A -> S. Also, Thieves and Bards/Dancers sacrifice their first weapon skill point to get their respective special abilities. This means that they’ll will be stuck with a dagger for a while! Feats/Abilities: What feats and abilities you have. You can choose 2 in the beginning (unless otherwise noted), and the full list will be compiled, soon. History: What you were in the past.
Also, don't feel as if all this information is set in stone. If you have an idea about some other race you want to be, or there's a certain weapon you might want to use that's not on the list, talk to me and we'll work out whether or not it can be allowed. Though I am basing most of the stat and battle system off of Fire Emblem, the actual game will play more like D&D (or any other tabletop game), so if you have any suggestions just throw it my way.
