Dark Matter was quick to intervene, in his own way. With all the corpses left behind by the robot, Dark Matter helped himself to their bodies and their equipment. He took in various guns, equipment, and memories from both police officers as well as construction workers. What he mostly got was their last moments of panic and fear, but something was always the same; cops fired first and the metal monster ate their bullets like bread crumbs. He was certain that the thing outright murdered the construction workers, but something about how it seemed to never actually chase after the workers who fled made Dark Matter wonder if this thing was some sort of guardian. As Dark Matter was contemplating this, the Teen Titan's showed up. He remembered that they had some new recruits, and he could already smell the ego off the youngsters. He wondered how many of them would be at each others throats by the end of this mission. But he had other things to concern himself about. That metal monster interested Dark Matter. Whatever it was, be it a guardian of a place unknown or an invader from the same area, it was something that Dark Matter wanted to look into. And to do that, he'd have to make sure the TItan's don't destroy it, as one gun-ho newbie wanted to try to do. One of the guns that Dark Matter consumed and had enough matter to convert was a Mossberg 590, with slug shells at that, making it into a decent mid-range rifle. When the tried to attack the robot from behind, Dark Matter took a shot at his back, aiming for center of mass before vanishing from the area to make another ambush on whoever else thinks it might be a good idea to attack the giant robot.
