- Crash [s]Bandicoot[/s]- Crash was sat on the dry sand just along the beach from the huts, he had his knees bent up so he could rest his forearms over his knees playing with something in his hands. He'd met his roommate earlier for the first time since he'd started the academy, Ryuu the guy that had assisted him against Ara (A) during the water balloon fight earlier that day. He seemed to be an ok guy, perhaps a little on the scary side...? He looked like the type of guy that would steal your lunch money...but Crash knew better than to judge a book by its cover people wore many masks to hide who they really were, he'd be a foolish shapeshifter if he took everything at face value. Deep thinking...it doesn't suit me and it hurts my brain He complained to himself, before pulling his arm back and lobbing the object he had gripped between his fingers. It turned out to be a stone, it soared through the air with ease and plopped into the calm sea with a small splash undoubtedly sinking to the bottom with ease. Crash groaned to himself and flopped back on the sand, unable to peg his sudden bout of melancholy...usually he buried it, the world would never see it and it would cease to exist. "Too much thinking...that's the cause of it" He told himself, for a moment he considered spreading his limbs out and making sand angel...
"CALLING ALL OF ATHALIA. PLEASE REPORT TO THE LOUNGE AREA FOR A MANDATORY MEETING!"
His ears pricked as Maria's voice rang out across the beach, though he knew the direction it had had come from he couldn't tell where she was yelling from, he could only assume she was already by the lounge. "Mandatory meeting...?" He sighed heavily. "If demons are attacking the island I swear...I'll...I'll do something drastic!" He decided, nodding to himself. What like threaten them with a deadly frying pan? Crash shook his head at his own thought begrudgingly pulling himself onto his feet he took a deep breath and made his way towards the lounge, forcing himself back into his protective cheery disposition, besides he had a great many reasons to smile at this moment in time. It only took him a while to reach the main building, by then he was his old self he strode through the front doors glancing around he saw Maria perched by the bar and a scattering of students already here. Two of which he'd never seen before and one of which he knew her name but hadn't spoken to her yet. He couldn't see Carmen or Kathy among them, thinking he should probably attempt to make more friends, he was still thinking this as he took a step sideways without looking where he was going walking straight into a cabinet holding a vase. Shock entered his expression as he realized what he'd done, lurching towards the falling vase he grabbed at it. Engaging the inanimate device in a desperate battle of wills, his will to keep it from smashing and the vase's will to end its non-existent life. Not today! Crash thought valiantly as he juggled the vase in the air his foot caught the cabinet before it could hit the floor, the vase persisted in dancing about at the tips of his fingers as he leant forward breathing a sigh of relief as he was finally able to secure the vase in his hands. Of course now he looked like the worlds most ungraceful ballet dancer, with one foot on the ground to support him, the other raised with the toe of his sneakers pressed against the block of wood that held the vase and both of his arms outstretched in front of him gripping the plain vase as if it were holy grail. If nobody saw him enter earlier they were probably aware of his presence now... Luckily for him he didn't feel embarrassed in the slightest around everyone here, he simply retracted his arms, carefully pushing the wooden block upright before he replaced the vase and exhaled a sigh of relief. Bowing to anyone who felt the need to comment on his performance before he retreated to the edge of the bar to join Mercy who was perched at the other end. "Smooth moves, though don't hold your breath if you're going for gold" Mercy commented giggling as Crash merely poked his tongue out at her childishly. - Little Feather - Little Feather was snuggled up against Lion's side in the common area of her shared beach hut, she had her flute in her hands and was playing the white beast at her back a relaxing tune. Lion purred his appreciation as he lay with his head against the cool ground with his eyes closed, his tail flicked lazily across the floor. Do you have a roommate here? Lion grumbled to the young Lakota by his side. Little Feather lowered her flute, glancing around curiously well there were bags by the door so she could only assume so. "I think so...but you know everyone would have been busy over the last few hours" She answered the beast, turning and snuggling into his side, she had changed back into her traditional native american clothing, though she had decided to put on a smaller feathered headband instead of her usual extravagant headdress...it was too warm for that. I'm glad we left that boomstick place...it was getting a bit hairy in there don't you think? Lion growled, tucking one of his paws underneath his chest leaving the other outstretched, "They're called 'Guns' I think" Little Feather told him, his ears flicked back and he snorted loudly. I don't care, I think Boomsticks is a perfectly good name for them! More to the point than 'guns' He rumbled his mane puffing in agitation, causing Little Feather to giggle into her hand. "Alright grumpy, cool your whiskers...what say you and me go for a walk through the forest. I'm sure we've barely seen any of this island. I reckon the better views are beyond the forest" She offered, getting to her feet and tugging at the white lion's ear. I suppose we could He purred, giving in and pulling himself upright he shook his coat out and followed her to the door. Once they were outside the beast lifted his muzzle to the night air inhaling deeply.
"CALLING ALL OF ATHALIA. PLEASE REPORT TO THE LOUNGE AREA FOR A MANDATORY MEETING!"
Lion's ears pricked towards Maria's voice, tilting his head to the side. What does mandatory mean? He grumbled to the Lakota woman as she reached over to scratch him behind his ears. "...I'm not sure, but it must be something to do with lounge, perhaps its a game!" She grinned at him, though he didn't look convinced. Little Feather hopped up onto his back despite his bad tempered grumble. "Hey what happened to wanting to be a valiant steed?" She asked him, her lip twitching up in mirth. Valiant steeds are not generally used as transportation from one place to the other Lion rumbled his reply, though he set off towards the lounge regardless. It was a short stroll and before long the pair arrived at the large building, Little Feather slid off of Lion's back, threading her fingers through his mane as they walked into the lounge area she quickly scanned the room looking out for people she knew though she didn't recognize two of the male students she did recognize Dani and Liam, she could also see Mercy and Crash on the other side of the bar. Lion gave the new blue haired student a wary look his nose twitching before he ushered Little Feather towards the boy sat in chairs. "Hey Dani! Mind if we join you?" Little Feather asked the pair cheerfully. - Derek Keelan - The Blind Dragon - The young dragon couldn’t express his relief upon ‘seeing’ sandy shores ahead of him, the moonlight reflected off of his forest green hide, sending dazzling flickers of color across the calm surface of the ocean. The gentle beat of his large leathery wings caused small spirals of water to dance across the waters dark surface, his muscular tail drooped down beneath him, the tip sliced through the water creating a constant hum of sound as the water was forced apart briefly before meeting in a clash behind the trailing appendage. On an island of all the places The dragon complained to himself, blowing a huff of smoke through his nostrils as he stretched his long neck forward. He reached forward with his forelimbs allowing his sharp talon like claws to skim the top of the ocean, black glass like eyes reflecting tendrils and spheres of light as he tried to map out the land before him. His slender ears pricked up as he tried to locate any other signs of life...of sound along the beach. So quiet, I thought students would be loud....and obnoxious little-....why am I here? The dragon grumbled low in his throat, noting that he wasn’t far from the sand he absorbed as much of the scenery as he could before lifting himself high into the air with an almighty beat of his wings, causing a plethora of waves to crash against the shore throwing reassuring flashes of light into his eternally dark world. He grabbed them bending them skill fully around the cabins on the hill as he passed overhead circling the gabble of buildings for a moment before veering off towards the larger building. That must be where the Principal wanted to meet me... Derek thought to himself, catching slithers of light swirling around the large shape, he could just make out a way in from this height. However the dragon suddenly veered off to towards the forest, intrigued by another source of light he passed over a moving sea of waving shadows before he came across the colourful distraction, he inhaled with a hum breathing in the fresh scent of spring water, usingthe steady hum of a small waterfall he manipulated the bright fuchsia pink and cornflour blue waves to give himself a clearer picture of the Waterfall alcove he had found. He swooped down, into the small pool connecting the two waterfalls hovering above the water, the light caused by repetitive purr of the rapids seemed to delicately curved around the open top cavern, with a thrum of his vocal chords the dragon reached down to grip his small shoulder bag between his ivory fangs lifting it back into the air he allowed his body to sink into the pleasantly cool liquid beneath him, folding his wings into his body he pulled himself over to a try platform just tucked out of sight on the right hand side of the alcove. He pulled himself out of the water, his sleek scales glowing faintly in the dark, though the dragon himself knew it would be more difficult for him to tell the difference between night and day here, usually he depended on the sound levels when it was quiet it was night, when it was day everything was loud. Derek shrunk back into his form dropping his small bag onto the warm stone beneath his feet, he ran a hand through his sandy golden hair before reaching down to unzip the bag. This cavern was a bit large for his liking but he had decided it was as better place as any to call his den. They wouldn’t expect me to stay in a building would they...? How many years has it been since I last slept in my human form... The dragon mused to himself as he pulled on a pair of jeans and placed his feet in a pair of white sneakers, he didn’t know what ‘brand’ they were he just knew the guy they belonged to had the same shoe size as him. Grabbing the stripy shirt out of the bag, he turned away moving over to the edge of the platform he crouched low to the ground before leaping up into the air, his wings bursting free of his shoulder blades in a flurry of blood and sinew, he winced at the initial pain but quickly composed himself as he soared back out of the cave. His eyes were drawn to the lights surrounding the water, before he took off shooting across the vast sea of darkness he was flying blind until he was able zone in on the weaker lights surrounding the buildings, focusing on the largest building he tucked his wings around his body and dove towards the ground, waiting until he was a meter away before he snapped his wings out, flapping them once hard he landed gently on the ground. “Perfect landing” He murmured to himself as a smug smile tugged at the corner of his lips. He strode towards the building in front of him, naturally wrapping the meager excuse of light around his surroundings as he moved his wings retracted back into his shoulder blades, with minor discomfort as he reached the doors before him, he fiddled with the striped shirt in his hands for a moment, cursing the quiet environment as he pulled it over his head agitated by the fact he couldn’t tell if it was on back to front or not. He’d been asked to meet the Principal here for his orientation before he could be settled into the...academy. Smoothing down his shirt he carefully made his way through the doors, walking confidently into the bar he slid one hand into his pocket, the constant hum of music in the background created a perfect amount of light in the room, meaning Derek was able to ‘see’ every shape the bar had to offer. He noted there actually seemed to be quite a few human shapes here; huffing to himself he approached the woman at the bar. “Excuse me...I’m looking for Maria Cross, I’m supposed to be meeting her here.” He politely asked his accent was undoubtedly British and although he hadn’t asked a question he was under the impression his sentence hinted that he would have liked to be directed towards her.
