Lysander took one more look out the door into the courtyard before firmly closing the door shut behind them. He slid to the ground, breathing heavily. The girl had saved his life, and risked her own by taking him in, but he wasn't sure he could trust her yet."Listen," he panted, collecting his breath, "All I can tell you right now is that there are bad people trying to capture and kill me. I wish I could tell you everything, but it's too dangerous. I'm sorry I have to be like this." He stood up and walked to the two nearest windows facing into the courtyard, pulling the blinds down. "I need somewhere to lay low for awhile. If I can throw off their trail once they've lost me, I can strike back and kill the problem at its source, but if that assassin was after me then they know where I am and I can't be sure I'm safe." He pulled the bottom corner of the blinds up a few inches and peered cautiously into the courtyard."However, it would be wrong to jeopardize your safety and those around you in my protection. If they find me, they will attack in force." He pulled his pistol out of his holster and began refilling the clip with bullets from a pouch, while looking at the girl and waiting for an answer.
Vesper listened to Lysander speak until he was finished, and thought about what he said before answering him. Before she could speak, a tall man with a long, white beard approached almost silently despite his size in comparison to her. Vesper looked up at him in silence a moment, trying to wipe the half dried blood off of her pale skin. "I couldn't help but over hear your situation. Might I suggest staying here for a while? Oculus could use a couple of members like you two. We can provide you with the safety and shelter you need..." the man persuaded. Vesper assumed he was the Head-Master of the guild he spoke of, and looked to Lysander hoping for a sign of approval to the idea. She figured there was no where else they could really go without their lives being risked, so this was a good a place as any. She knew also, that despite barely knowing anything of Lysander except for his situation, she felt the need to help him. "I would hate for something bad to happen. I can stand my ground if need be, don't worry," Vesper said, smiling faintly. She had never really been in much trouble before, so this was another first for her as well. In a way she found it funny that so much could have happened on the first day here. She shook her head slightly, turning to attention to Lysander now, to hear what he thought of the idea.
