As he spoke with her mouth full she felt much less self-conscious and actually giggled behind her food. God she was giggling like a school girl talking to the jock of the school but, well she was. She wasn’t the most popular girl in school but she got along with almost everyone and now she was out with someone was good looking and gentleman like as he was. Hopefully his gentleman ways wasn’t just an act to get into her pants. First of all she’d beat him up no matter how big he was and she had enough guns hidden around her house that if she couldn’t subdue him she could threaten him to leave with a guy. She never really thought that he might be dangerous and that’s why Fury wanted her to watch him; then again Fury wouldn’t put her on something dangerous, which is why he kept her doing paperwork in the office. So that couldn’t be the case. Soon they finished their date-lunch and started up the stairs. “I can’t wait to see it.” She said in an honest and upbeat tone as they began to climb the stairs, since she was in the front, she kept their pace slow as an excuse to talk to him more. She deserved what she was going to make at home considering she went for a run this morning and now she was climbing god knows how many stairs in order to get to the top of the Statue of Liberty. “And I can’t believe that this stayed standing during the battle. That was surprising but nice at the same time.” God this thing getting taken out… can you imagine the amount of paperwork Sharon would have had to do?! When he spoke, she felt like she heard a bit of nervousness in his voice, a small smile moved across her full lips and the right corner curled up more into a smirk as she looked over her shoulder at the large man following behind her. “Unless you’re going to knock angrily on your own door tomorrow morning to yell at yourself for some reason then no, you don’t have to worry about that.” With that she looked forward, she realized that she had admitted that she didn’t have a boyfriend but did she also let him know that she didn’t have any guy friends either? Maybe he wouldn’t catch that, it would be embarrassing for him to put two and two together that she didn’t have a friend. It was a long climb to the top but the conversation was kept light, fun and laughing as they climbed keeping their distance from the group ahead to have a bit more privacy thanks to Sharon’s choice of stepping. At the top she went for the nearest window and gazed out upon the city that was still being rebuilt. “Wow!” She exclaimed in an awe manner as she overlooked the city. Her blue gaze behind the glasses and turned towards ocean. “I can’t believe this watched over so many amazing people who came over to our country to escape the horrors of their country. America is really the land of the free.” Her voice was filled with a sense of pride as her chest puffed out slightly, she was proud to be an American and if she could talk about her job she’d be proud of that too.
