Steve smiled when he heard her bring up the heavy lifting. "Something at the grocery store, eh? I think I can handle it..." Steve couldn't help but accept it. She could have asked him to carry around a bag of dog droppings, and he'd do it in a heartbeat... Steve noticed the crowd wasn't being too pleasant. They kept separating him and his date, but that was soon changed when Sharon stepped up and put her small hand in his larger one. It was better than he imagined. It was soft, yet strong, and warm... and her other arm on his bicep was electrifying. "N-no... I...don't... I don't mind at all." Steve managed to say to her, looking down at her, giving a smile. As they kept walking people kept bumping in to him and Sharon. he didn't care that people ran in to him, but he found it very rude and frustrating that people did that to Sharon. "Hey, buddy. Show the woman some respect, will ya?" Steve said rather offensively to a guy who charged through the crowd to get a good seat, his Brooklyn accent kicking in. The man rolled his eyes. "Get over it, pal. Its New York." He said as if that was a justified answer. "Punk..." Steve muttered, pulling Sharon a bit closer so the chances of her being ran in to slimmed. Once on the ferry, Steve kept his hand covering hers, using the excuse that he didn't want to lose her in the crowd, and he really didn't want to encounter another jerk like before. New York was much a different place now...
