While his parents weren't rich, they did manage to keep him out of trouble and steered him toward the various programs for awakened individuals in the school system. Through these programs, Sullivan quickly was eyed up by corporate recruiters and the UCAS military as physical adepts were highly in demand because they didn't require cyberware. Eventually, Knight-Errant offered the young man the best prospects, in his mind, so he took their offer. Knight-Errant, specializing in corporate security contracts, put Sullivan through their training program and then started assigning him to site security; he performed well enough, particularly in being able to look into the astral, which gave a useful heads up for security in shadowrunner incidents. This talent paved the way into contracts for executive protection as part of a personal security detail, eventually being assigned to one of the better short term, high risk contract teams that dealt primarily with foreign dignitaries and high-profile corporate employees. While on a detail for a Tan Tien Project Lead named Tseng Shang Lao, the detail supervisor, Mike Dorner, betrayed corporation and comrades to facilitate Dr. Lao's extraction to an unknown corporation, leaving the rest of the detail burned. In the aftermath of the debacle, heads rolled at Knight-Errant, and Sullivan's was one of them. He found himself out of a job, despite a good work record, though with a wad of hush money in his pocket. Other corps, including Lone Star, weren't interested in making a hire, so he started to jump the other way as a means to pay the bills in accordance with the lifestyle he expected.
Psych Profile:
Having been burned once, Sullivan went into shadowrunning knowing that the unexpected is just around the corner. He scrutinizes things -- he takes a look before he leaps in. He also tries to leave a minimal trail. He isn't motivated by politics, he's in it for the money, but he also knows that reputation counts, having had his burned in the corporate world already. In the shadows, he is accordingly cautious but also knows that getting the job done is paramount.
What qualifies you for this position?
Skillset, calm nerves and a low-profile, professional approach. You need at least one sane person on any given team.
