[/quote] The isolation wouldn't have absolved negative feelings. When the Japanese emerged from isolation and reanalyzed their place on the world stage, they wouldn't have started by discarding everything they'd learned about the world and their neighbours before isolation. Hopefully Japan's new status as co-belligerents of the anti-nationalists won't harm their special historical relationship with the Dutch. I was excited for there to be a player taking over Japan.
