Sharon loved the idea of walking hand and hand with him and when he didn’t let her hand go, her heart pounded in her chest. Returning the tightness she slipped her fingers into his and the two ventured into the grocery store. She kept the space between the two of them as minimal as possible. His cologne was soft and nice, inviting almost and even though he had a large amount of strength, he still held her hand like she was a delicate flower needing to be handled with the utmost care. How many women actually got treated like this? Much less in New York City, none; she was a, no, thee lucky one. “Yes produce alley.” She repeated with a smile, though she wasn’t all too excited that they had figured that out so quickly; she wouldn’t mind staring up at the signs feeling his presence next to her for however long it took. Arriving at the stand she ignored the radio announcer. She didn’t like to think of Tony Stark since she knew the billionaire first hand. Flirty weirdo who knows ‘everything’. She’d much rather meet… “Living legend Captain America has been rumored to live in New York City of all places. Where? We don’t know, why? No clue either but what we do know is that he’s close to us, ever watchful to make sure we are taken care of. His pride of America is all inspiring and we can only hope that we can make America something he is proud to fight for.” A small smile moved across her lips, her actions had stopped as she listened to them talk about Captain America. She hoped that her dedication to her country would be enough to make him proud. Plus it was hard to believe he wouldn’t have his own island somewhere or a penthouse in the middle of down town NYC. He could be anywhere, live anywhere and be with anyone. Would he… would he ever been interested in talking with someone like her? “Okay.” She said playfully, finally thinking of a reason not to let go of his hand. “Let’s see how strong you are single handed.” A small laugh left her as she reached up and pulled the bag from the little container. Sticking her fingers inside, she gave it a small flick, the air flying into it and spreading out the bag. Then she handed it to him and began to pick up the fresh red apples. “My family’s receipt has two. Sometimes sweet apples are used and sometimes sour apples are used. Considering I’m going to make it for someone sweet I think it only made sense to use sweet apples.” Her blue gaze flicked up to him as she placed an apple into the bag wondering if he’d catch on that she was talking about him. Five apples into the bag she nodded. “That should do it!” Her bright voice rang around them as they started towards the checkout stand. The two older women in front of them where flipping through a gossip magazine and talking about Tony. “He’s so handsome!”, “Not as good looking as his father but he’s getting there.”, “At least he’s smart too.”, “I bet he’s got just as much of a charming personality as his father.”, “I wonder if he has a sweet side that no one gets to see, don’t most guys have that.”, “Well young women these days are attracted to arrogant men, it’s a gem to find a young men with manners these days much less a woman who’s looking for one with manners. That in itself is a mixture for happiness.” The two women nodded in agreement as they stepped forward purchasing their items, including the magazine with a large photo of Tony flashing that award winning smile. Sharon couldn’t help but smile and gave Steve’s hand a small squeeze before she leaned into him resting her head gently against his shoulder. She couldn’t help it! What the women said made her happy, yes, she had a good, no great, guy with her and even if it was just for today and that ended everything; she was happy she had it.
