This freezing weather did not make the young woman happy. Clutching the wheel in a white knuckled grip, Ele carefully maneuvered it into a mostly empty parking lot in front of a mall. The woman at the rental car company had not warned Ele, a city girl, that the country would get this badly covered in snow, and Ele hardly knew how to drive a car in the first place! Who needed a car when they could walk or take a train or cab? Gritting her teeth, Ele pulled into a space and turned off the engine, immediately feeling the bite of the cold air and her teeth began chattering as she wrapped her coat tighter around her. Hurrying out of the car and across the lot, Ele went into the first store she saw, a hobby shop. "Pardon me," Ele said, going up to the counter, brushing white snowflakes out of her red hair, "Could you direct me to the closest auto shop? I need chains, or something." She said, blowing her breath into her ungloved hand to warm them up, "I'm not from here, and my phone has no signal. I'm completely lost."
