Name Irina Babish Call Sign "Big Guy" Appearance Description Irina's Chinese heritage leaves her a bit robbed in the height category: she's only five feet tall flat. She hasn't let that hold her back, though: she may be short, but she makes up for it in strength. She's weight lifted since the age of 12, and her stint in the marines has left her strong and muscular: 125 pounds is a bit heavy for someone of her height, but one can tell by looking at her that the extra weight is muscle, not flab. Irina has a bit of a punk thing going on with her hair: she recently shaved down the sides and spends a few minutes every morning spraying it to keep her chin-length bangs out of her face. Hey head is a bit tall, with a sharp jaw and wide chin. Her very-dark-brown eyes match her hair and narrow eyebrows, and underneath her round nose she has a very narrow mouth.. Age 26 Gender Female Personnel Description Irina is an extremely self-confidant individual. She has an odd machismo that can lead to some interesting situations, especially if one triggers her equally elevated sense of competition. She's not especially intelligent, though she's by no means dumb; she managed to get a degree with a minor and manage good grades, after all. She's just not the type to seem particularly intelligent. Irina has a friendly competitive sort of friendship. She enjoys doing things with people rather than sitting around or talking. She's affectionate in a physical manner, though she hasn't injured enough of her friends to really be considered dangerous. If she really really likes someone, though, she has a very tsundere way of showing it. Backstory Description Irina doesn't remember anything of the life she lived before coming to America. She was adopted from a Russian orphanage by a non-wed lesbian couple from New York at the age of 3. No one in the Chinese refugee camp near the town where she was found had claimed responsibility for her. She didn't end up with too-odd a childhood, all things considered. Her mothers did a spot-on job of raising her and allowed her a lot of freedom: when she expressed unusual interest in "boy" sports they did nothing to stop her, even encouraging her and paying for her football and boxing lessons. They managed to largely shield her from the public opinion about their relationship, though she did end up in the principle's office a few times from breaking a few less-tactful students' faces. She wasn't a stellar student, but she was good at what she put her mind to: her sports. At 12 she began weight lifting when her football coach suggested that she was too weak for the sport. For all that her parents were able to provide, they didn't have the money to get her to college. That was fine with her: she had been planning on entering the military, anyway. The Marines, specifically. She went right from JROTC to her dream job, and in four years managed to not die in the conflict in Iraq, and made it back to reap the benefits, namely a free pass to college to get her degree in Electrical Engineering while staying on the reserves. Part of her "job" as the reserves was to stay ready as a Order 51 agent, so when everything goes downhill, she's one of those who gets to try to right things. --- Inventory -- Heavy armor, including integrated standard equipment (HUD, radio, gas mask) housed within the helmet. This armor is rated for greater than level 4 threats: it was specifically designed to allow a soldier to continue operation after sustaining multiple shots to the abdomen or head from an AK47. The armor consists of a inner layer of Dragonskin body armor, on top of which are level 4 ceramic plates around the torso, neck, and legs. Finally another layer of even-thicker kevlar-wrapped metal plates lies over all of that. It is capped off with a bullet-resistant helmet: to provide maximum protection, the helmet has no glass, instead using a virtual reality system combined with cameras to provide vision. This conveniently removes the necessity of a separate HUD as it is integrated into the helmet. The full suit is about 120 pounds. -- Camel-back water backpack. It's hard to take off the helmet to stay hydrated, so Irina uses a camel back to avoid that little annoyance. -- Extra rounds for her shotgun; extra magazines and loose ammo for her pistol. Unique Item Raytheon XOS 2 updated to be workable in non-tethered form. The XOS 2 is an exoskeleton that allows a soldier to lift a considerably-greater load and carry equipment without placing the weight upon the soldier herself. This allows not only the ability to carry heavier things, but also less fatigue for a soldier who would otherwise be burdened down by dragging the average 90-pound equipment load of a rifle infantryman.
