Shade looked up at Terror, her eyes softening a bit with a glimmer of hope. “The man’s insane. He kidnapped my little brother and used him as leverage. When I went to make a deal with him though he had-“her voice broke suddenly, cutting off what she was going to say. “He killed him in front of me. It was the first time I ever felt like killing someone before. My brother was all I had left. I should have thought it through. He had gotten my only other weakness from my brother, the poor kid was just trying to save us both, so when I lashed out to attack him I left defenseless.” She finishes, suddenly looking angry as she pushed off the couch. Her hand reached to grip her hair, pushing it off the back of her neck to reveal the beginning of a scar that disappeared under her clothesline. “I managed to get out of there with just this.” Shade said, venom lacing her voice. “That’s why I say we have to be careful, lest we lose everything.”
