I accept the morally ambiguous Argonian! I've also given a brief biography of Emperor Sidonis in the OP, to add to that must needed enigma, mystery and tension. Enjoying my dive into CHIM (it's 3 Am, what else am I supposed to do than comprehend a fictional reality. But am I talking about the world of Elder Scrolls? Or our own?? What if both are the same?
