For the record, I intend for Ormoneric to be able to learn new spells via spell mixing - with the catch that he will need an entire Aedra-damned Grand Soul Gem for each one. :O Those things aren't exactly uncommon in Skyrim once you get to, you know, level 40 - but they will probably be fewer and further between for our group. The idea is for it to function as a source of new spells as the plot demands. A lot of the spell effects I have planned are utility-based, meaning a lot of new doors can be opened (figuratively and literally) with each new spell learned. Convection of heat from lava will still kill you).
