Steph stood, fist to her chest and eyes almost glazed over ahead of her. She stood with a stern look on her face, this was it. She would see her scouting regiment and finally know who her team mates would be. She listened to her superiors intently then, when asked to, began to walk to the Survey Corps. A breeze picked up softly as she began to walk, the people around her thinning the closer she got to the Scouting corp. It was disappointing, seeing people move to safer roles, but Steph knew it was bound to happen. Her team was smaller, a lot smaller than other roles, and as she looked around her, none of them seemed nearly the picture she assumed a scouting soldier would look like. They where only human after all. She missed her pistol by her side, at training she had it removed. It was a hand me down from her father. It had no real use against a titan, but it was reassuring to have when things began to heat up. She hoped it would be returned after training. She glanced at her fellow cadets but did not have the courage to talk to anyone, instead she stood and waited until everyone would move away and to the barracks.
