I assure you it won't be that much of a dilemma. Kristoph will be angry, possibly go for a sword or spell tome, but Simon will step in and him talk him down. That was one of the main purposes of Simon, to act as a moral compass to keep Kristoph from going to anti-villain territory and to a lesser extent act as "muscle" for his strategies (ie the guy who actually goes out to kill whatever tactical leader Kristoph directs him to, or to guard whatever strategic position Kristoph needs).
