Sitting in the back seat, Gavin played with the small engagement ring. It was a simple one with a small ruby, rather different from the ones that were going to be advertised in a handful of years' time, diamond engagement rings. They were throwing a lot of money at that cartel, but they seemed to know what they were doing. A gold ring...with a very rare but small ruby. Holding it up to the light coming through his window, took to enjoying a nice cigar (which was quickly lit by one of his men) and pondering the future thoughtfully. Rarely was there a moment to think to himself, ah, speak of the devil. The car pulled up to the casino, and the door was opened for him to step out. Many of this family's henchmen were up and about, guarding the area at all fronts like loyal dogs...but Gavino brought his own dogs. Since this was meeting his soon to be fiancé, it'd be a show of both distrust and disrespect if he brought a score of his men. So, the correct thing (which he did) was to only bring the two he could trust with his life. Flanking his right was a mob enforcer who owed Gavin's father his life, and the man flanking his left was a childhood friend turned trusted lackey. Even if there was funny business afoot, he knew he'd come away with his life at the very least. Respectfully, he alternated between nodding, smiling, and tipping his fedora (a special smile and the tipping of a hat to the ladies), before stepping into the casino. Quiet clear, and quiet obvious both a fancy and new establishment...he could quiet like a place like this. In his head, Gavin was almost imagining what this sort of joint would be like when it was filled with people. It was then, looking around, that he noticed the Marcello family's boss, his future in-law.
