Grey Haven: The Witch Hut, School, and Sanctuary In your dreams a vision comes to you showing a beautiful building on a riverside. The following day, a letter somehow makes it to you through the mail or whatever means you have to receive a letter. _____ Hello! This may or may not sound odd, but you ,*recipient's name*, are a witch. Ones without magic power could not open this after all. Where to start? Ahem, in the days past people have persecuted and killed because of the idea of Witchcraft. They fear the powers that a witch hold and rightly so, might I add. While not the sole source of magic in the world (there is devil worship, the Secret but not so secret Mages Academy and so on), Witches can hold one of the darkest of powers aside from those who sell their souls directly to the devil, the cause of common misconceptions that started witch hunts in many places long ago. Yet we can hold one of the brightest powers to lead through the darkest night. . . This letter, addressed to you *recipient’s name* is to invite you to Grey Haven. At Grey Haven, you will learn of your heritage as a witch and help decide what you think your path in life is. Will you be a Black Witch or will you be a White Witch, or maybe even something entirely different. . . We shall teach you what you will need to know in order to attain the power you need and find the path you want. Attached is a black stone. If you agree to meet and join us repeat the words, ‘Adiungam societas et sorores‘ Pardon if the Latin is off, I’m a rough translator. Also, you might want to practice saying the words a few times not holding the stone. For good measure. You might turn into a frog otherwise. -Love, L ______________________________________________________________________ Rules, etiquiette and other things
-Female Characters only please. I’m sure most of you are aware, but Witches are witches. Witches are females. (In context of roleplay, Males cannot naturally get the power of witches because reasons and therefore have to train in the Arcane, Demonic, or Holy Artes among a few others.) -Please follow the Guild Rules, if I need to post them here, let me know, but I think it’s pretty common sense stuff really. -I’d like the Student characters to be between 12 and 18. I think those are good student ages. Players will be the only students, so there are no NPC students (five overall is pretty good). -At least one good paragraph per post, or the equivalent (about 5 -6 sentences per paragraph) as well as grammar that is of a readable level. -I’d prefer to have people that will post at least one per day though I can wait two. I understand life happens. If you are going to be out for a while, let us know in the OOC or PM me and we can put your character somewhere safe until you return, otherwise they will receive the most stereotypical witch punishment. . . FROGGED.
______________________ Magic: The first of a witches arsenal happens to be the elements themselves. The Greeks had it right and the sky's the limits as to what can be done with magic. It just has to happen within a specific attribute.
Water tends to be a defensive type of magic along with earth. The abilities of water magic allow for the purification and movement of water, yet not the creation. Of the basic elements it is the only one that can heal the wounds of someone.

Fire is not a wholly destructive type of magic though admittedly dangerous. Flames can be conjured and manipulated and used to produce great amounts of heat. One with control of fire can also make themselves resistant to heat.

Earth is half defensive and half offensive. Strong users of the earth type magic can cause small earthquakes yet protect themselves from the greatest of dangers. This also incorporates the ability to coerce and communicate with plants though usually only when it is the natural magic.

Air tends to be more offensive than defensive though with it’s own utilities. It can be used for changing the direction of the wind, useful for sailing and can be as sharp as a blade when necessary.
The next set is all things non-elemental. These can range from here to there and are considered mostly secondary type magics inside Witch Craft (though perhaps not true of other types of magic).
This is part of the main part of Black Witches. It encompasses the corruptive and ‘evil’ side of Witchcraft as well as control over that which cannot be seen. There is also potential to see in low to no light situations.

This part is the main part of White Witches. Anything to do with light and is the ‘good’ and ‘true’ side of Witchcraft. It has the ability to blind enemies with dazzling light as well as using the light to brighten the darkest areas and manipulate light.

These powers have to do with movement of objects, suggestion, and other things to do with the world around.

A skill that all witches can learn. It uses the magic from a witch to brew potions and elixirs. Even the weakest of witches can use this.

Adding the properties of magic to an item for future use. This is the concept behind how wands work.

One of the more difficult types of magic to use. It takes constant work and a huge inner pool of magic to use. It’s effects range from the change of an object at chemical level, to the appearance of a person and all things in between. This is also where the stereotypical power of turning someone into a frog comes from.
Every Witch has one element she is naturally good at (Fire, Water, Air, and Earth). It still takes work to master, however, and to it is recommended that each witch learn either Darkness type or Light type magic at the academy as the Matriarch encourages the paths of the White Witch and the Black Witch though there is the technicality of Green, Blue, Red and Yellow which represent the four elements. (Earth, Water, Fire and Air respectively). Applications of magic:
Curses stem from Darkness magic but also require more than that as well. It depends on what kind of curse. Let's say we consider turning someone into a frog is a curse. A very fun one the Headmistress is fond of. That would require mastery over Darkness and Alteration with mastery being dependent on how strong the curse is. ________
Name: Age: (12-18) Apperance: (Picture is great, but so is text!) History: (Doesn’t need much, just give a small or however large you’d like, description of what this character has been through. Ask if you need some help with the current times and witches) Personality: (If you prefer to roleplay this out, go ahead. This is just to get to know your character a little.) Favorite Food: ??? Base Magic Element: (Fire, Water, Air, Earth) Other: (Anything special I didn’t add? Do they have music you find fitting or a “theme”?)

Name: Ophelia Gardner Age: 17 Apperance: History: In elementary school, Ophelia was rather tomboyish preferring to wear ball caps and having shorter, rougher hair. Into middle school her body developed and the boys she use to hang out with start poking fun at her and teasing her. This had no real lasting effect on her other than switching from boys clothes to looking more feminine over all and with longer hair. She never stopped doing somethings like video games and is a huge fan of a certain monster catching game on a handheld system. Near the end of middle school into high school, a friend of her introduced her to comics, manga and anime. While she found that it somehow lacked in some things, she did enjoy the art style and hoped to make a web comic or something of the sort herself. She worked on her drawing her freshman year of high school and made a plot for some sort of witty story while running with her track team. She gave up the web comic but enjoyed drawing enough to do it in her free time. Personality: Ophelia enjoys herself on her computer. She uses it to both draw and play games. While this makes her seem like she belongs to a certain group of people, she actually enjoys physical activity though not exactly hot days outside. She's a generally nice girl, likely to help when asked, however she will expect a similarly difficult favor in the future. She's also the type to clean up only after she is completely done with something. Favorite Food: Hamburger Base Magic Element: Air Other: She has both a desktop and a laptop and takes the laptop with her to the academy.
______________________ Current Particiapants: Pyromania99- Ophelia Gardner Ryu - Minori Ozaki Yuuji - Genkou Kazuki ERode - Chrysanthemum 'Chrys' Daze June Daze (Assistant) CoyoteKisses - Eva Marlow
