It's kind of a 'gene' but can pop up through families randomly. . . Or just lay dormant for generations.

Some 'Holy' organizations consider them 'Demonic' and put Witches and Demonic Cults on the same level. There is no general magic hunting inquisition though.

Familiars are done differently through different methods. Some are summons now bound, others are created through magics. Blood Sacrifices is a 'Demonic' magic thing.
