Rei continues reading while the food and drink is being situated, his expression notably more subdued from the last time the prince saw him thanks to the presence of the woman who clearly isn't too trilled to be in his presence. The last time she looks to him he looks back and watches as she nearly flees from him. 'Such easily spooked people. How does the king expect anything to get done around this place if just one odd looking 'child' puts them on edge?' When at last the prince takes a seat Rei relaxes ever so slightly and looks up, his head tilting to the side as he tries to figure out what he means by “good”. 'He could be asking if I took interest in any of this, or if the book was written well, or any other number of factors. Should I ask?' Mulling it over silently for several seconds he at last decides to just provide the answer to the most likely implication. “I find it interesting, the views of the writer, on the exploits of the human hero of the tale.” He looks back to the book. “At least in this his foes were human also, save for a twisted mystic who was likely an undead, though the writer may not have known that.” He closes the large history book and looks to the meal. 'There are three plates, does this mean one each?' He gestures to the man slouched in the chair. “I also read a bit of his magic and intentions. He does not sleep by the way, it is a form of meditation I recognize from elder mystics.” A moment later the old man chuckles and opens his eyes slowly. He meets Rei's gaze and for a moment they look to one another, silent thoughts passing between them before at last the man looks to the prince, sitting up a little straighter and motioning for one of the plates to be moved closer. Rei finally decides he's hungry as well and reaches across the table, grabbing up a slice of cold meat and sitting back in his seat, keeping the food away from the books and papers more out of his own desire not to soil them than any respect for the man's work. As he munches silently he decides to just sit and watch the two for a while, wondering what the old man will have to say now that the fae has outed him, and also wondering if he will tell the prince that he knows that Rei is a fae.
