Uh, this place can be rough in general, but if you roll with it you can do p. well. The impression I'm getting here is that it's not really your ball of wax. And as for Halo, he's one of the more mild ones, other than being a bit tl;dr. 

So like I said, if you're looking for inoffensive interaction the member's lounge is probably a better fit.
