History: Maruki was born during the last few years of The Reign of Sai. In a small cabin hidden in the woods of the land of fire, close to Konoha. As soon as he was able to stand on his own two feet his Parents teached him all he needed to know to live off the land. Teached him which plants were edible and which were not. They teached him how to swim. Before they left on what would be their last mission they teached Maruki how to mold his chakra, how to use his Byakugan and how to use the Gentle Fist Taijutsu technique. 

Maruki’s parents last mission was to assassinate Sai together with a lot of other shinobi. The fight lasted long and although their byakugan was a useful asset in battle it was not enough to save their lives, before they reached Sai they were killed by some of his henchmen.

However their efforts were not unrewarded as other shinobi of their squad succeeded in finding and killing Sai and thus ending his reign. Maruki reached the age of seven at that time. He kept training with Jūken and the Byakugan. From time to time he met travellers while he was fishing in the river or finding some food. He learned a lot from them.

One of those things were how to utilize the Byakugan and making his own jutsu’s based on stories he heard of examples of these jutsu’s which he tried to copy. Another thing was that his parents were no longer alive. Maruki knew his parents would be looking down at him from the high heavens and vowed to make them proud. For the next few years Maruki dedicated all his time to his training and developed techniques similar to Hakke Rokujūyon Shō and Hakkeshō Kaiten. At the age of fifteen he left the little cabin in the woods, hid it and left for Konoha to attend the Academy and become a full-fledged Shinobi.

Personality: Maruki is a dedicated Shinobi always trying to improve himself. Although he never really had much contact with other people, you don’t recognize this of his actions. He is friendly and kind to others but can be surprisingly cold and sharp-tongued to the ones who do him, or the ones he cares about, wrong.

Combat Style: Mainly using Taijutsu (Jūken) Maruki tends to get close to his enemies. This does not mean he doesn’t use kunai and shuriken though. He knows how to use his Byakugan and utilizes this in combat. He likes to observe and analyze before diving into combat himself.
