Again this means that like the age of sail far-flung Empires are difficult to maintain and information about what's happening in the direction of travel always old and inaccurate, also it means if we break the law in one sector of space all we have to do is keep ahead of the communications carried by other ships Feudalism Relatively slow communication speeds mean that local rulers cannot be directly controlled by central authority. Therefore, affairs are managed by independent nobility, who make use of classic titles such as Baron, Duke and Archduke. Jump Drive The key characteristic of a jump drive is that it allows a starship to be instantaneously teleported between two points. A jump drive is supposed to make a spaceship go from one point in space to another point measured in Parsecs (A parsec is equivalent to 3.26 light years) and the max jump drives are Jump 6.
